Time is a strange piece.
It is unrepeatable, relentless, mysterious yet so present.
An angel, a star, a bell. These three figures form the historical coat of arms of Barovier&Toso. The creative heroism of the family is reflected in the symbols that have stood over and protected its name, for centuries. An identity that bears witness to a noble lineage developed across generations that have guided the glass workshop. The human and professional vicissitudes of Barovier&Toso still unfold in Venice and Murano, where the furnaces were moved to protect the secrets of their art of glassmaking from the prying eyes of merchants and spies.
Murano constitutes an extraordinary context because it is here that the principles of sustainability have been embedded in history, in the awareness that the creative process is intrinsically natural. Where fire, sand, together with the water of the Venetian lagoon, became the material that Barovier&Toso nurtured into the art of Venetian crystal. The company has blown and shaped glass with the hands of local artisans since 1295. Its glow and transparency are the results of an exclusive formula passed on through the centuries. The production respects nature, reducing environmental impact without altering the state of a consolidated, time-tested process, allowing total safety for the craftsmen involved.
